Tinubu nominates Keyamo, Mahmud as ministers, removes Maryam Shetty
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated former Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, as minister.
Tinubu announced this in a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio and read during plenary on Friday.
The president also withdrew the ministerial nomination of Maryam Shetty from Kano and replaced her with Dr Mairiga Mahmud.
Keyamo and Mahmud’s nomination follows the recent submission of the second batch of ministerial nominees by President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Wednesday.
This supplementary list comes as a continuation of the first list of the 28 ministerial nominees presented by Senate President Akpabio the previous week.
Among the nominees are Ahmed Tijani, Bosun Tijjani, Ishak Salako, Tunji Alausa, Tanko Sununu, Adegboyega Atiku Bagudu, Bello Matawalle, Ibrahim Geidam, Simon Lalong, Lola Adejo, Shuaibu Abubakar, Tahir Mamman, Aliyu Sabi, Alkali Ahmed, Heineken Lokpobiri, Uba Maigari, and Zephaniah Jissalo.
Also, the Senate has already undertaken the screening process for the 28 nominees, including former governors Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna) and Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), as well as Wale Edun, Uche Nnaji, Stella Okotete, Adebayo Adelabu, Ekperikpe Ekpo, Hannatu Musawa, and Musa Dangiwa.
Other nominees screened include Nyesom Wike (Rivers State), Abubakar Kyari (Borno State), Nkiruka Onyejeocha (Abia State), Bello Muhammad (Sokoto State), Sani Abubakar Danladi (Taraba State), and Badaru Abubakar (Jigawa State).
Others include Joseph Utsev (Benue State), Olubunmi Tunji Ojo (Ondo State), Betta Edu (Cross River State), Uju Kennedy Ohaneye (Anambra State), Abubakar Momoh (Edo State), John Enoh (Cross River State), Iman Suleiman Ibrahim (Nasarawa State), and Yusuf Maitama Tuggar (Bauchi State).
