Police release Imo Labour Party Assembly candidate, Amadi

A Labour Party State Assembly candidate for Owerri Municipal Constituency of Imo State, Clinton Amadi, has been released after spending days in police custody.

Amadi, who was a lawmaker at the state House of Assembly between 2007 and 2011 was arrested on Monday April 3, at the state secretariat of the Independent National Electoral Commission located at Port Harcourt Road in Owerri, the state capital.

It was gathered that Amadi was arrested by operatives of the Tiger Base of the police command after obtaining the Certified True Copies of electoral materials used during the State House of Assembly election in Imo State.

The 27 LP Assembly candidates in the March 18 election, demanded the immediate release of Clinton Amadi in a statement they signed
