Ikeja Electric adds 19 new Band A feeders to communities
Hours after slashing the tariff for Band A customers who get between 20-24 hours of electricity supply daily, Ikeja Electric has added more communities to the Band A network.
The regions Incorporated into Band A of the Disco network are classified in the Band A category of 11KV and 133KV, covering areas in Ikorodu, Magodo, Maryland, Magodo, Ilupeju, Ejigbo and additional localities
In a post on its X handle, the electricity company said 19 communities have now been added to the Band A feeder.
The statement reads: “Premised on our demonstrated ability to consistently provide a minimum of 20 hours of daily availability during a performance evaluation period monitored by the Regulator, we are pleased to announce that we have obtained approval to add 19 additional Band A feeders to our network.”
The upgrade of some areas to Band A came hours after the distribution company said it has reduced electricity tariff payable by its Band A customers.
The slash is to N206.80 per kilowatt-hour from the N225/kWh, as approved by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
According to the notice, the downward tariff review of the Band A customers would take effect from Monday, May 6, 2024.
“Please be informed of the downward tariff review of our Band A feeders from N225/kwh to N206.80/kwh effective 6th May 2024 with guaranteed availability of 20-24hrs supply daily,” the statement said.
