FCSC chair Ingawa hails new Customs boss, okays internal succession in MDAs
Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) Dr. Tukur Bello Ingawa has showered praises on the new Acting Comptroller General of Nigeria Custom Service (NCS) Bashir Adewale Adeniyi for his giant strides and expressed his approval over succession from within in all Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by NCS officials at the commission’s complex in Abuja on Thursday, Ingawa congratulated Adeniyi on his emergence as NCS Acting CG and spurred him on to pilot the affairs of the service to the next level.
While expressing gratitude for his kind gesture following the visit, he assured the new Customs boss of his unwavering support and cooperation particularly in view of the commission’s proximity to NCS.
“When a neighbour knocks to say hello, I have come, that means he’s a good neighbour. And that is how to go about existing. Like it is said in major inscriptions, love your neighbour as yourself. And if you see their proximity to our commission, we’re very close. And sharing the same facilities as parking and other things. So, we need to have a very smooth relationship.” Ingawa said.
Also, Adeniyi expressed confidence that the new collaboration between the NSC and FCSC will further promote good governance for the benefit of citizens in Nigeria.
Adeniyi further assured the FCSC that he will put an end to an age-long dispute between the two government establishments regarding parking lots and the sharing of other facilities.
He said, “Beyond that, as responsible government agencies, I know there are areas we can tap from each other in terms of collaboration and working together to achieve set goals.
“I know for some time now, there are situations that call for attention of the two commissions such as conflict on parking lots and the rest.”
He emphasised that as long as he remains the C-G, he would do everything possible to ensure every challenge facing the two commissions was addressed.
